Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is the heart of our organization’s vision and integrity. These dedicated volunteers bring their time, talents, and passion to guide our mission and ensure we stay rooted in service, creativity, and community impact.
Each member contributes unique expertise, from arts advocacy and nonprofit leadership to business strategy and community engagement. Together, they help shape our direction, uphold our values, and champion the work we do every day.

Members at Large
connect you to the Board of Directors. They attend meetings and can with your questions, especially if you're uncomfortable approaching a Board Member. They can also raise your concerns anonymously during meetings.

The Executive Board meets on the second Monday of each month at The Harford Artists’ Gallery, 37 N. Main Street, Suite 104, Bel Air. ​Any HAA member is welcome to attend.

Position Descriptions

The Board approved the Responsibilities and Expectations for positions in December 2021. All HAA governing roles are filled by committed community volunteers dedicated to our Mission & Purpose: Supporting the Arts and Artists of Harford County by promoting art appreciation in Harford County, educational programs in the visual arts, encouraging artistic growth among members, and providing opportunities for members to display their artwork.

Executive Board
(Member Elected)​
President
Presides over Executive Board meetings, selects committee chairpersons with the Board's counsel, and is an ex-officio member all committees.
Vice-President
Assumes the President's duties in their absence or disability.
Secretary​
The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Board, shall oversee the maintenance of a permanent record of the minutes in Association storage, and shall ensure the issuance of notices. The Secretary shall also serve as the Association Historian.
Treasurer
Manages all bank accounts as directed by the Executive Board, prepares a monthly financial report for meetings, and keeps an updated member list with contact details, informing the Membership Chair of any members not in good standing.
Standing Committees
(Board Appointed)
Chairpersons for HAA Standing Committees are appointed by the Executive Board and serve as voting members during Board Meetings. Chairpersons oversee committee organization, prepare meeting agendas, report activities to the Executive Board, and submit budget needs for overall HAA budget approval.
