About Us

We are the Harford Artists’ Association Inc. (HAA). We’re a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of art in Harford County, organized in 1967, and incorporated in 1970.

In October 2009 our gallery was established through an agreement with the Town of Bel Air, becoming the anchor for the Town of Bel Air’s Arts and Entertainment District. Our membership is open to individuals, families, students and anyone interested in supporting the arts. Our annual membership meeting is held in the spring.

We offer educational programs, art exhibits, workshops, art lectures, demonstrations and community outreach projects organized and executed by our active and growing membership. We also run the Harford Artists Gallery, in which members can show and sell their work.

We’re also proud to offer annual scholarship awards to Harford County student(s) of the Fine Arts. Everything we are is made possible by the continued support of our Members and the generous donations of our Sponsors. We thank you for helping us spread Art and Wonder throughout our community!

The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday!  All visitors are welcome to tour the Gallery during normal operating hours.  The gallery hours are Wednesday - Friday 10 am – 6 pm  and Saturday & Sunday  10 am – 4 pm

The HAA gallery is also receptive to private tours for youth groups, schools (primary and secondary) and senior citizens (Gallery is ADA compliant).  Other special interest groups are always welcome.  Contact the Gallery if you’re interested in a private or large group guided tour; all tours are free.

Members at Large are your connection to the Board of Directors. They attend Board meetings and are here to help you navigate through any questions you may have when you may not feel comfortable going directly to a Board Member.  They can also bring any of your concerns directly to the Board (anonymously if you wish) for discussion during our monthly meeting.

Overview of the Board

The Executive Board meets once a month, usually on the second Monday of each month, at The Harford Artists’ Gallery, 37 N. Main Street, Suite 104, Bel Air. The President may occasionally change the date and time of the board meeting or may call a special board meeting to address time-sensitive issues.

Any HAA member is welcome to attend a Board meeting. Any issues you may wish to address can be placed on the agenda by contacting the President in advance or by discussing with one of your Members-at-Large to bring to the Board. Non-Board members may participate in discussion or present reports at the discretion of the President, but may not make motions or vote.  (By-Laws, Article IV)

Are you interested in supporting the Arts and Artists of Harford County as an Elected Member of our Board?  Please reach out to our Nominating Committee (NominatingCommittee@artinharford.org) for inclusion on our upcoming Ballot!  Executive Board Positions are voted every even-numbered year at the Annual Membership Meeting.  Is 2024 your time to shine for the Arts?!
