Community Outreach Past Projects & Annual Events

Toys for Tots. The Harford Artists’ Association sponsors a Toys for Tots Drop off point at our Gallery. Local toy collection campaigns begin in October and last until mid to late December.  Toy distribution also takes place mid to late December.  Members of the community drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes positioned in local businesses.  Coordinators pick up these toys and store them in central warehouses where the toys are sorted by age and gender.  At Christmas, Coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community.  Read more about the Toys for Tots program on their website at, https://www.toysfortots.org/Default.aspx

Festival of Trees.  The Harford Artists’ Association offers judges for the donated trees and donates a decorated wreath for the auction. The Festival of Trees is a 2-day event during which donated, decorated trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses are sold through silent auction. Activities and shopping for all ages. All proceeds are donated to Cancer Life Net at the Kaufman Cancer Center.  Read more about past Festival of Trees events sponsored by the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance on the Upper Chesapeake Hospital Foundation’s website at, http://www.uchfoundation.org/
